Workshop on Microfluidic Chip and Tissue Engineeri

On June 10, 2017, "Workshop on Microfluidic Chip and Tissue Engineering” was held successfully in Liuyuan Hotel, Nanjing. Vice President of Southeast University, Wang Baoping, delivered a speech on the opening ceremony. He expected this workshop to deepen the research coordination and academic exchange between the scholars of the "Innovation Base for Organ Chip," and to build high-end cooperation platform and turn on a new page of the industrialization process of research results. The meeting was chaired by Chen Hongyuan, Academician of Nanjing University, with the attendance of Prof. Gu Zhongze, Dean of School of Biological Science and Medical Engineering, Southeast University, Prof. Lu Zuhong, Director of State Key Laboratory of Bioelectronics, Professor Lu Xiaoying, Professor Xiao Zhong, Professor Zhao Xiangwei, and more than 100 experts from major universities across the world.


Prof. David A. Weitz of Harvard University, Academician of the US Academy of Sciences, Professor Michael L. Shuler of Cornell University, Academician of the US Academy of Engineering, Professor Liang Jinrong of the University of Columbia, Prof. Janos Vörös of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich, Associate Professor Ronald Xu of Ohio State University, Prof. Lin Bingcheng from Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Prof. Wang Changyong from the School of Military Medical Sciences, Prof. Wang Dayang from Jilin University and Prof. Gu Zhongze from Southeast University respectively, focused on the cutting-edge areas such as microfluidic chip and tissue engineering made reports, and conducted in-depth academic exchanges with the participating faculty and students.

In the afternoon, professors from Xiamen University, Institute of Physics and Chemistry of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Nanjing Institute of Information Engineering, Wuhan University, Suzhou University, Southern University of Science and Technology, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Chongqing Green Intelligent Technology College, Hebei University of Technology and others made presentations, enjoyed a lively discussion on the relevant hot issues.

It is reported that the "Innovation Base for Organ Chip," Southeast University, is led by Professor Gu Zhongze, and joined by Professor David A. Weitz, Professor Michael L. Shuler, Professor Janos Vörös from the foreign academia. Around the core research and technology of organ chip, this base has established long-term partnership with Harvard University, Cambridge University and other world-renowned universities, and made significant progress.
